Primer a substance used as a preparatory coat on previously unpainted wood, metal, or canvas, esp. to prevent the absorption of subsequent layers of paint or the development of rust
Paper mache A material, made from paper pulp or shreds of paper mixed with glue or paste, that can be molded into various shapes when wet and becomes hard and suitable for painting and varnishing when dry
Opaque An application of media that completely covers, for example, any underneath drawing or color. The opposite of transparent, light cannot pass through it.
